Deleting 7000 Instagram Followers

wp-1488545757396.jpgSo…yes…I did it…

…after a year of building up my social media profile I destroyed it in 0.5 seconds. I have been asked if I am actually crazy. I am not…or not much anyway!

The truth is, it started to take away from what I wanted to do, which was to share this blog and help people. Whilst the majority of my readers did come from my @ladyvelheim Instagram account, the number of scary inbox messages and indirects I received started making me unhappy. Not only were many of them inappropriate, they did not relate at all to my writing. The mistake I made was mixing my fitness journey with my writing journey, as it prompted many to comment on my appearance rather than the musings of my mind. Of course, under any circumstances, I realise I cannot control anyone and weirdos can appear anywhere, although I can modify how I deal with them.

I also realised that there are a hundred thousand million billion fitness videos and pictures on Instagram…but there is only one DefinedbyThrine!

Pressing the ‘permanently delete account’ button in the web browser was immensley satisfying and liberating. I have not regretted it since, as I truly have faith that I can start a fresh and write even better blog posts. My other Instagram account @definedbythrine, is still live and this is the one I shall be using from now to share my writings. I have the same username on Twitter and I may create a DefinedbyThrine Facebook page…watch this space!

Rest assured, the next full blog post, no. 57, will be up next week and it is called ‘The Power of Silence’.

I really hope you all join me for the next chapter ❤
